With an earning potential of $100,000+ combined with great benefits many of our PST’s (Professional Service Technicians) choose to remain PST’s  For those that want to further their career the typical career path for an individual starting out as a PST’s  is:

Professional Service Technician → Team Leader → Shop Foreman → Service Advisor or Dispatcher →
Service Manager → Parts and Service Director

In many cases, if a person really enjoys Fixed Operations (Service and Parts Departments), this is the top rung of the Fixed Operations Career Ladder.  If they want to still learn more, they might switch departments or aspire to become a General Manager.

EARNING POTENTIAL:
First-year Professional Automotive Service Technicians on average make $35,000-50,000 it is possible to make as much as $60,000. By year three, some Professional Automotive Service Technicians with continued training and education can make over $80,000 per year.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Complete all required training and continue your education!
• Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
• Complete an MPI (Multi-Point INspection) on each and every vehicle.
• Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
• Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems
• Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed
• Provide estimates of time needed for additional repairs
• Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications

REQUIREMENTS:

• Subaru experience and or ASE certifications a plus!
• Fast, eager learner and team player
• Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications and software
• Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
• Clean driving record & valid driver’s license
• Willing to submit to a background check prior to employment

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience as an auto technician
• At least 1 year of experience working on Subaru vehicles

COMMUNICATION / LANGUAGE SKILLS:

• Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with supervisors, services writers and co-workers
