Shawn’s Thunder Road Recap

2013 Thunder Road SpeedBowl - Shawn Fleury802 Toyota was so fortunate to be able to sponsor Shawn Fleury, who has been racing his redesigned Toyota Camry throughout the 2013 Thunder Road SpeedBowl season. Shawn has his championship race this weekend, he’s going into it first place in points, so we’d like to wish him the best of luck, and give a recap of his season!

May 26 Race: Shawn made great strides in most recent race last weekend; he and his team won their heat race! Shawn started in 7th in his semi feature and finished in 4th, and started 12th in his main feature and finished in 4th again – just missing 3rd place by a bumper! Shawn is now sitting at the No. spot in the Tiger Sportsman Division at Thunder Road.

June 9 Race: Shawn was caught in a wreck and finished 15th

June 20 Race: Shawn finished 6th!

July 4 Race: Unlucky – he got caught in a wreck again after being well on his way to a top 5 spot and ended up finishing 18th

2013 Thunder Road SpeedBowl - Shawn FleuryJuly 7 Race: Finished 5th! Go Shawn!

July 11 Race: Finished 13th, which is not what he wanted but we know Shawn’s going to be amazing at his next one 🙂

July 25 Race: Shawn had a great night last night at Thunder Road, which is especially great because it was the mid-season double-points race! He won the heat race, placed second in semi-feature race, and… “We got 802 Toyota in the victory lane with a big win for the first time this year.” August 4th Race: Shawn finished 4th!

August 8th Race: He finished 13th, which he wasn’t happy with, but then:

August 16th Race: Shawn finished 8th and boosted himself to 2nd in points, just 3 points away from the lead!

August 18th Race: He finished 10th but gained back the point lead by 15 points!!

August 23rd Race: He finished 7th, keeping the point lead by 13 points!

August 29th Race: Shawn finished 11th; it started raining and shortened the race, so he was back in 2nd place with 9 points separating him and the lead, and just two races left to go.

September 1st Race: Shawn finished 4th! And he gained back the lead by 20 points!

Best of luck Shawn, we’ve got your back going into
the championship!
