1 in 5 Toyota cars sold is a Toyota Camry
The Camry has officially reached its 10 millionth sale! The Camry has been America’s best-selling car for the past 11 years, and it represents almost 20 percent of the vehicles that Toyota has ever sold. The Toyota Camry also celebrates its 30-year anniversary in the US this year.
The first-generation of the Camry was released in the US market in 1983, selling 52,651 vehicles that year. Ready for a crazy stat? 773 of those Camrys are still in operation – three decades later! According to Toyota’s press release, “Overall, there are approximately 6.4 million Camrys on the road, further echoing the quality, reliability and durability still represented by Camry seven generations down the line.”
