The historic event took place Friday Oct. 12

A Toyota Tundra Crew Max 4×4, outfitted with a 5.7-liter V8 engine and 381 horsepower successfully towed the 300,000 lb space shuttle Endeavor. The Tundra received zero special attachments or ad-ons for the tow.

Toyota and the California Science Center have had an ongoing friendship for 20 years, Toyota has helped to raise awareness for the program.

“We’ve partnered with the California Science Center… as part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring youth in the fields of engineering, innovation and future technology, and we are honored to lend our support for this historic event,” said Toyota’s Vice President of Community Affairs and Philanthropy Michael Rouse.
